This is the cartoon for the oil painting Feroze Mehta in the Ferens
Gallery, Hull. The cartoon was exhibited at the Parkin Gallery in 1977,
no. 43.
It was sold by Sotheby's at the studio sale, 24 April 1985, lot 493.

Both these works were gifted by the artist to Sheila Hicks in 1976.
Hicks (1916-2008) was a Cornish artist who worked mostly in
watercolour. She was a long standing member of the Newlyn Society
of Artists and a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd.
An error by the auctioneer prevented Self Portrait from being sold to
a higher bidder.
