Colquhoun was a member of many art associations, including, at various times, the Society of Mural Decorators and Painters in Tempera; the Women's International Art Club; the Newlyn Society of Artists and was connected with the Fantasmagie Group. She regularly exbitied with these groups and, later in life, took part in the brief revival of interest in British surrealism that took place in the 1970s.
