Drawn in the 1940s, this watercolour was redrawn in pen and ink and used as the cover illustration for the poetry collection Grimoire of the Entangled Thicket.
It is notable that Colquhoun’s other collection of poetry, Osmazone, was illustrated with a redrawn watercolour from the 1940s, Shell Fish c.1943
