MACHINE FOR CONJURATION, c. 1940
Watercolour. 10¾ x 7¾in. (27.9 x 20.2cm.)
Titled on the reverse.
Provenance
National Trust bequest.
TGA 929/4/17/16 as untitled painting showing a multicoloured triangular form.
It is strange that the Tate archivist records this work as uninscribed whereas the NT catalogue records a title. It is, presumably, the same work.
A date of c.1940 seems about right.
The red and blue triangles, signifying the genders, are present. The rays, predominantly white and yellow, are the rays of Divine Light.
