The card is traditionally depicted as a hand issuing from a cloud grasping a stout club. The club has three branches. The left and right hand branches have three flames, and the centre one four, thus echoing the disposition of the ten Sephiroth.
Colquhoun’s card corresponds fairly closely to this description as far as the appearance of the club with its issuing flames is concerned, but she has discarded the hand and cloud in favour of a red background and has placed a five pointed star at the head of the club.
The Ace of Wands is also known as The Root of the Powers of Fire.
