Permutation (II) consists of a grid of 40 squares, formed of eight rows and five columns.  There are small discs at the intersections of the grid lines.  Each square contains one large coloured disc with one, sometimes two, smaller coloured discs centred on top.  There are five ground colours for the squares, each colour occurring once in each row.  There is no obvious pattern in the way the colour order changes with each row.

See note to Permutation (I), 1969.
